Author Guidelines

TERMS OF PUBLICATION

We invite authors to submit materials to the journal. All materials will first be evaluated by the editor for their relevance to the goals and subject matter of the journal. Those works that are deemed suitable will be sent for review, after which a decision will be made on their acceptance or rejection.

Before submitting the material, the authors must obtain permission to publish any elements included in the material, such as photographs, documents, and datasets. All authors indicated in the submitted material must agree to be listed as an author. If necessary, the research must be approved by the relevant ethics committee in accordance with the requirements of the legislation of the country in which the research is conducted.

The journal accepts theoretical and review articles, essays, field notes, book chapters, translations, and reviews for publication. The manuscripts of articles in Russian and English are accepted. All texts should be designed in accordance with the requirements of the journal. The journal accepts original materials that have not been published before. Materials should be sent by e-mail: jrsre@universitas.ru.

Publication fee

Publicationin the journal is free for authors.

The journal does not charge for the preparation, placement and printing of materials and does not pay royalties to the authors.

Rules for authors

The article must meet the high standards of academic text and literary language. For research articles, we recommend using the IMRAD framework. The abstract of each article should follow this structure.

The article may contain diagrams, graphs, illustrations, and photographs. Please provide illustrations as separate files.

At the beginning of the article, the following should be indicated: the title of the article; first name, patronymic, surname of the author, followed by a dash, academic degree, academic title, Faculty/Department, the name of the institution. Address with postal code, city, country (in the case of Russia, you don't need to specify the country). Email. The abstract text is up to 500 words long, containing basic information about the stated goals of the work, methods, and results obtained. Keywords. All of the above information must be repeated in English. The most detailed abstract in English is welcome (remember, foreign colleagues will find out about your article thanks to the abstract).

References to sources are arranged in the form of a text-by-text bibliographic list and numbered in alphabetical order. In the text, the last name, the year of issue and the page (if necessary) of the quotation are indicated in square brackets, for example: [Халиков, 2024, с. 136], [Кропоткин, 2023; Спенсер, 2023], [Stefkovics, 2022, p. 20].

The author must refer to at least three works published in the last three years.

At the end of the article, two bibliographic lists are provided: the main one in Russian and the languages of the mentioned publications and an additional one in English. For the second list, we recommend using the English-language "for citation" form provided in the cited article or, if there is none, translating the titles of books and articles into English. If it is difficult to translate, use transliteration. For the design of the main list, the journal's own style is used, based on GOST R 7.0.5-2008 and the Harvard style. The Harvard style is used to design the English-language list. Articles with incorrectly designed bibliographic lists will be returned for revision or rejected.

Translations of books, even if their bibliographies are designed differently, as well as essays and review articles, are subject to the same requirements.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • This submission meets the requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • This submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.
  • All references have been checked for accuracy and completeness.
  • All tables and figures have been numbered and labeled.
  • Permission has been obtained to publish all photos, datasets and other material provided with this submission.

Copyright Notice

The copyright to the articles published in the journal belongs to their authors. When using materials created by other authors (texts, tables, images) in articles, the authors and/or copyright holders of these materials must be indicated. The authors retain the right to use published articles and other materials with mandatory references and hyperlinks to the original publication. Upon re-publication of the materials, the author undertakes to provide a link to the material first published in the journal "Russia’s Directions". The accepted article is publicly available.
