Abstract

This text is dedicated to the memory of the Russian sociologist Mikhail E. Ille (06/21/1952–12/27/2023). The St. Petersburg and Russian sociological community responded strongly to the death of Mikhail Ille. This short story about M. Ille’s life and work consists of
three parts: “Mikhail Ille talks about himself,” “Friends and colleagues remember Mikhail Ille” and “The significance of Mikhail Ille and ‘The Telescope’ in my life.”
