Abstract

Transcript of the lecture on scientific ethos that was given in the 2002‒2003 academic year as a part of the course “Methodology of Sociological Research” of the joint master’s program in sociology of the University of Manchester and the Moscow Higher School of Social and Economic Sciences. The lecture was recorded and transcribed. Minor editing has brought oral speech to the written form. The author’s manner of speech has been preserved.
